Together with Local Hero Faith Kipyegon, Local Heroes supports 16 year old athletic talent Dorcas Cherop. Dorcas goes to school in Ainabko, near Eldoret, in Kenya, lives in Lewa Children’s Home and trains as a runner at their Junior Camp (a project also supported by Local Heroes). Her big dream is to follow in Faith’s footsteps and become a successful athlete. With the funds raised by a Dutch secondary school, we are happy to financially support Dorcas’ athletic endeavours and pay for her tuition fees, boarding and meals. Through the efforts of our donors, we look forward to supporting her in the coming years while Dorcas is in school, and to see her realizing her dreams and becoming a role model for other children in disadvantaged communities.
